When it Comes to Martial Arts Artarmon is Well Placed
If you want to study Kung Fu in Artarmon; One Tao Kung Fu Academy is just along the road in Willoughby. From this convenient central location, we serve the martial arts Artarmon community in all the surrounding suburbs.
Kung Fu and our particular special form of it, Wing Chun, is a thoroughly 21st century practice to study because although martial arts in Artarmon started off thousands of years ago in Ancient China they are needed every bit as much now. While Wing Chun in Artarmon is a form of combat, it could better be described as a peace-lover’s form of combat, because it is all about overcoming aggression, defusing situations and getting your world back in a peaceful state.
How Does Wing Chun Artarmon Work for Self-Defence?
When an attacker starts something, they are all action, force and energy, and Wing Chun near Chatswood uses exactly that to rebound on the aggressor, essentially turning their acts on themselves. It is a far cry from what western societies refer to jokingly as “fisticuffs”, a posh English word that describes trading punches. A successful Wing Chun defence lands the opponent in a mess of their own making.
Is There More to Wing Chun in Artarmon than Avoiding Getting Beaten up?
There certainly is, although avoiding getting beaten up is obviously well worth doing. But part of the success of a Wing Chun in Artarmon defence is driven by qualities that we instil in our students through meditation. Our students develop a natural state of calmness allied to awareness – so they are level-headed but sharp – and with a clear head you can make better decisions. The ability to concentrate and use self-discipline are other attributes that help not only in the heat of battle but in everyday life too. Take these things out of the combat context and they are excellent ingredients of a peaceful life. With self-confidence and clarity of thought you can navigate much of what life throws at you, and we all know the sort of treatment we receive sometimes, be it overtly hostile or passive-aggressive.
Who Can Benefit From Kung Fu Classes in Artarmon?
Pretty much anybody can gain life skills this way. That ranges from the family leader who feels the responsibility to react positively in a hostile physical situation to the child who fears the bullies in the playground. It includes the woman who thinks twice about what she is doing and where she is going because there are some people out there with evil on their mind.
